AzHHA’s federal advocacy work
Federal policy shapes hospital finances, workforce capacity and operations in Arizona. AzHHA maintains an active presence in Washington, D.C., ensuring that Arizona’s unique needs are represented in national policy discussions. We closely monitor legislation and regulations, submit comments to agencies like CMS and HRSA, and advocate on issues such as Medicare and Medicaid payments, 340B program oversight, provider taxes and rural health transformation.
Our priorities include fair reimbursement, expanding telehealth and opposing harmful payment cuts. AzHHA shares real hospital stories to help lawmakers understand the impact on rural communities, safety-net providers, mental health services and the healthcare workforce.
AzHHA partners with the American Hospital Association (AHA) to combine local insight with national influence. Together, we work to protect the 340B program, secure Medicaid funding, address workforce shortages, improve mental health services and prevent excessive regulation. This collaboration provides Arizona hospitals with strong support at the state and federal level.
