Arizona Transition to Practice Program
Increasing retention for registered nurses is the cornerstone of the Arizona Transition to Practice Program, as the program provides an additional level of support for new nurses who are transitioning from academia to practice and for nurses moving to new specialty areas.
To help accomplish this goal for our new graduate registered nurses, the program provides many benefits including, but not limited to:

Standardized evidence-based curriculum that complements onboarding.

Access to clinical resources and a community of new graduate nurses across the state.

New graduate clinical and professional development support throughout the first year of practice.

Emergency preparedness and resilience is cultivated through the program.

New graduates receive peer support by attending monthly clinical reflection groups with their peers.

Training and support are provided to key players at the hospitals.

Mentors and preceptors are eligible for stipends.

New graduates are eligible for American Nurses Association and Arizona Nurses Association membership.

New graduates have an opportunity to participate in the American Nurses Association Innovation Accelerator.

New graduates receive a scholarship to attend the Arizona Nurses Association conference upon meeting eligibility criteria.
